Miles Away
Musical Trilogy in Connection with Derealization
The final product of my work is a vinyl record with an inlay and a postcard. I have also designed the work itself to match this theme. The main motif of the flower runs through the entire project.
Miles Away
Coverdesign
The dried flower represents the person with derealization, trapped under a glass dome.
The flower stem, without contact with the ground, symbolizes the floating and fragile structure of life, which can break apart at any moment.
The starry sky represents the immense distance between the current emotional state and reality in the case of derealization.
The three-dimensional space represents a safe place where derealization can exist as it is, without being lost.
The water droplets, as a vital element for life, are out of the flower’s reach, also symbolizing the distances.
The shadow creates the impression that, even though it seems far away, there is still a connection to the here and now.
Miles Away
Three People, Three Perspectives, One Situation
The three images visualize the relationship between the characters ‘Miles Away’, ‘Safe Space’ and ‘River Flows.’ The flower on the right edge represents ‘Miles Away’ a distant, emotionally absent person.
In the second image ‘Safe Space’, the character ‘Miles Away’ offers a protected space to experience emotions without pressure.
In the third image ‘River Flows’, ‘Miles Away’ is urged to face their inner struggles, with concern and urgency taking center stage.
